Britain's best-selling newspaper, The Sun, is today reporting that Bryan Ferry has agreed to contribute to Groove Armada's new album, Black Light, which will be released this winter.
According to band member Andy Cato:
"It was quite a long courtship. We went for two or three nice dinners with him and his producer. But he's just really into the music.
"We nagged him until he couldn't take it any more and put the vocal down. He's working on his own stuff, so he's around a studio anyway.
"It's obviously amazing for us to have such an iconic voice on the record."
Unfortunately for Cato and The Sun, they also make the claim that "It's the first time Bryan has ever collaborated with another artist, so it's a big moment for us.
This must come as a surprise to Jane Birkin, Antony Hegarty, DJ Hell, Charles Aznavour, Trentemoller and any other number of artists Ferry has collaborated with in recent years.
Could Bryan's recent willingness to work with dance producers and DJs be an indication of the direction of his new material?
