Review:I'm grateful to Linda Whittingham for this personal review

I have been a fan of Roxy Music since I was a child, at the tender age of twelve so when I heard that they were going to reform and do a tour this summer I rushed out and bought my ticket, then waited in a state of eager anticipation. I was one of the lucky ones as I had a seat right down the front by the stage so I could see each band member clearly without having to peer around any lofty chaps as had happened in the past. When the band came on stage the atmosphere was electric and I could feel myself going all goosebumps as the band started up with "Re-make/Re-model".
Bryan Ferry cut quite a dash in his silver jacket playing on keyboards. While Phil Manzanera in a cream suit and Andy Mackay in a dark suit both looked very grand. Their performance was brilliant and I have to say the band still can produce outstanding style. Phil Manzanera was wicked on the guitar while Andy Mackay was truly outstanding on "A Song for Europe"(that song really does do something to me like tingle from my head to my toes and all in between when I hear the sound of the saxophone in this song. Bryan Ferry's smooth vocals and stylish costume/outfits clearly showed he still pays attention to the smallest detail forever a slave to the love of his art.
If there was one fault it was that the show did not last just a wee bit longer as the band did not do "Do The Strand" and "Avalon" two songs of which are among my favourites. The concert was better than I had could have hoped for my only regret is that I cannot afford to go to one of the two new dated venues at Hammersmith in October.
