Writing Credits

Prior to release its official release, Bryan Ferry experimented with a different running list and alternative artwork for his 1978 album 'The Bride Stripped Bare'.

The original artwork, which showed Bryan Ferry against a mountainous Alpine background was rejected as not 'punk' enough. The cover was gatefold, with a single disc and an an inner sleeve that displayed a selection of Ferry's lyrics on the outside.

Ferry also originally had two different tracks, 'Four Letter Love' and 'Broken Wings' on Side Two. These self-penned compositions were replaced by two soul classics, 'Hold On (I'm Coming)' and 'That's How Strong My Love Is' for the official release, and the running order was changed. The two dumped tracks were later released as B-sides.

This version of the artwork is extremely rare. Fewer than 10 copies were made, one of which is in Bryan Ferry's posession. Record Collector valued this item at £400 in 1999, calling it the third rarest Roxy collectable.
